Practice and Parent Involvement
Parent Participation: An important aspect of a young student’s training is the presence, support and encouragement of a parent at lessons and in daily practice. Parents are welcome to observe class. Each student will be provided with a small notebook that weekly assignments will be written in.
Practice: To insure success, students are expected to practice conscientiously everyday. Generally this means 10-15 minutes per day, 5 days a week for students in book 1, and 15-20 minutes a day, for 5 days a week for students in book 2 and book 3. A consistent practice time and quiet space is highly recommended. If your student has mastered the concept on the page, there is no need to make them play the same mastered page over and over to get to the allotted time. A review each day after mastery is sufficient.
